The railroad began in 1999 as a single loop of track around our flower garden.
Nine years later there are two loops, the outer loop to allow for running of the longer modern prototypical engines and freight cars, and the inner loop, a modified figure 8 loop for “normal” freight cars and engines. Both loops pass thru the mythical town of Viking Valley.
A third track, for the town trolley, is a point to point running on the outskirts of town.
The trolley runs past main street, around farmer Bob’s barn, and across the covered bridge to the town fishing hole.
All of the track is Aristocraft, using track power with transformers.
Town buildings are a mixture of Piko, Aristocraft, and kitbashed.
Freight cars and engines are a mixture of LGB, USA Trains, Aristocraft, and Bachmann.
The overall layout is approx. 25'x20'.
The Viking Valley Railroad is pleased to host the June 2008 club meeting
