I built my railroad in 2005, after my retirement from UPS.
It did not take long for me to realize, I had to do something with my time.
My father-in-law had a HO scale. I thought it would be neat to run a train outside and someone said, “you know they do that.” I was off to the races, with my father-in-law, William.
We built the railroad on a hillside, with trestles running through a covered bridge, two tunnels, and a loop through a ravine.
The era of my railroad is from the 30's to the 50's based on William and my memories. I like to run my Shay on the tight radius's of the 110 feet of track.
The William and Willow Railroad was named after my father-in-law and first granddaughter. My second granddaughter is now on the scene.
How does William, Willow and Rosemary Railroad sound?
