The Garden Northern railroad of Denny and Judy La-Musga was constructed in time to make it’s debut for the 1998 LGB convention in Columbus OH.
This beautifully landscaped railroad features 290 feet of mainline track, 4 different styles of bridges (one of which runs into Denny’s garage), a town with a freight yard and a passing siding for the passenger station, and an 84 foot long river.
The railroad is based on a section of the Great Northern Railroad that ran through Minot, North Dakota, which the town is loosely modeled from. One of the most scenic features is the long, curving stone viaduct.
It is reminiscent of the one the Great Northern built in St Paul Minnesota. The back yard also contains a “kid’s layout” which features a farm setting containing many animals and two stations.
